May 23, 2016 (Golden, Colo.) – Colorado ultra-runner and dad Jeremy Bradford is halfway through fulfilling a lifelong dream to run coast to coast across America. Jeremy’s transcontinental journey began in April at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles and will end in June at the steps of City Hall in New York City. Jeremy is raising money for Children’s Hospital Colorado as a tribute to his daughter, who received care at the hospital when she was born with a cleft palate.
Jeremy is currently at 40 percent of his $10,000 fundraising goal. His journey is sponsored by Jeremy’s employer, HomeAdvisor®, and Jeremy plans to stop at the HomeAdvisor offices in Kansas City, Indianapolis, and New York City. Jeremy’s family, including his wife Natalie who also works at HomeAdvisor, is traveling with him along the way making sure he has supplies and support during his journey.
“I’ve always been inspired by transcontinental runners and I am passionate about my family and running,” said Jeremy. “This journey is a way for me to give back to the community and help other families safeguard the health and well-being of their children.”
Jeremy’s daughter Maya was born with Pierre Robin Sequence, a condition resulting in a cleft palate, which made it difficult for her to breathe. With the help of Children’s Hospital Colorado, Maya had her palate repaired and is now an ultra-runner at the age of 10, just like her father.
“HomeAdvisor is a dedicated and significant partner of Children’s Hospital Colorado,” said Kendall Cordova, senior manager of Corporate Giving at Children’s Hospital Colorado. “They have created a corporate culture of social responsibility that is integrated into all levels of the business. They create fun and unique ways for employees to give back as a team and also support and encourage their employees, like Jeremy, who have a passion and desire to do more for the benefit of kids. We are grateful to Jeremy for his efforts and to HomeAdvisor for their overwhelming support.”
